Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) was born into a professional-wrestling family on May 2, 1972. World Wrestling Entertainment. As a wrestler for World Wrestling (W.W.E. Multiple times, he won the title of Heavyweight. Johnson's wrestling career was then transformed into a cinematic career. He was in The Mummy Returns (2002) and Tooth Fairy (2010). The other projects include the HBO show Ballers and prominent roles in the Fast & Furious and Jumanji franchises as well as a voice-acting role in the Disney film Moana. This is his birthday, and we simply want to show that we're grateful to such a talented person. Dwayne Douglas Johnson, more popularly than the stage name The Rock is an American actor, businessman and wrestler. The Rock was raised in a wrestling family, but has made a name for him through this particular sports. Johnson was a Californian born on the 2nd May 1972. Rocky Johnson is his father as well as Ata, a professional wrestler. Peter Maivia - his maternal grandfather's father was a professional wrestler who rose to fame during the 1960s/70s. He was known by the name of High Chief. Johnson was a traveler as a kid with his parents and witnessed his father wrestling in the wrestling ring. Johnson was a football player during his senior year of high school. He soon received an all-university scholarship from the University of Miami. He received his Bachelor in General Studies (criminology and biology) during the same academic year.
